IF THIS DOES NOT MOTIVATE AND INSPIRE YOU…… NOTHING WILL!

I have known a lot of people who have quit a sport for good over just an ankle sprain. But I have also known people who have overcome huge adversities like polio in one leg and a blind eye to go ahead and become a Table Tennis champion and, at present, be a national ranking Billiards player. I consider myself lucky to be a friend of this humble super sportsman.
Everyone very fondly calls him ‘RAJA’ (meaning the KING).
For me people like him truly are kings because of the numerous lessons they teach us without opening their mouth, every single time we look at them. It is people like these who have inspired me to never complain or give excuses but instead get back after every injury or setback I have suffered, stronger and more determined.

The story below is not some diet info or some exercise routine but a real life story which has inspired and humbled me and taught me what positivity and fighting spirit really means.
That is why I say that IF THIS DOES NOT MOTIVATE AND INSPIRE YOU…. NOTHING WILL! Continue reading

They say that “THE WAY TO A MAN’S HEART IS THROUGH HIS STOMACH”

Well……………………

I say that “THE SHAPE OF A MAN’S OR A WOMAN’S BODY IS THROUGH HIS/HER MOUTH”

200 CRUNCHES, 3 MINS OF PLANKS, HIIT WORKOUTS, WEIGHT TRAINING…….BLAH BLAH BLAH!

All come to a naught if what you eat is not what and how much you should be eating.

80 % of your body shape (physique/tone/fat/muscle…) is determined by what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat and subsequently how much you burn of what you eat.

Heavy duty words like METABOLISM, BMI, BFI, BIA…………. are used and heard at gyms and used by personal trainers and dieticians alike all the time. They sound more like a disease to a lay person and actually put them off. Continue reading

Flip Flops ! Fashion and comfort at a cost?

Posted in Zege | Posted on | Comments: 0

The ‘DO PATTI CHAPPAL’ was once considered as poor man’s footwear or toilet slippers.
Call them slippers or Flip flops or whatever u like but this basic and minimalistic footwear has come a long way in terms of its looks, feel and off course the price.
What was once worn strictly as stop gap and within closed boundaries because of its looks and price has now become a fashion statement not only in India but around the world. One of the reasons for this is total make over in terms of looks and feel. Also a major factor being that the biggest brands in the business are selling them and at exorbitant prices.
The topic of discussion or rather the bigger question is how harmless or rather how harmful these no-fuss flats can be, especially considering the amount of time they are worn throughout the day? Did you ever wonder or imagine that despite their easy-breezy appeal, extended flip flop wear can cause a range of physical ailments, such as plantar fasciitis, muscle soreness, and lower back pain?

SURPRISED ! Continue reading

D3B12

Confused ???
This is not the name of a character in some Sci-Fi movie or a top secret code but, sadly, 2 most neglected and serious deficiencies increasingly found in both kids and adults alike these days.
They are the Vitamin D3 and vitamin B12 deficiencies.
I have been training a young 14 yrs old aspiring swimmer for a while now. I use to notice a rather uneven and inconsistent pattern of fitness, energy and muscle fatigue levels in him over a period of time but always passed it off as typical kid behavior. The surprising part is that since he has been preparing for competition, he has a qualified swim instructor, a qualified dietician and I take care of the strength and endurance training and yet there was inconsistency in energy levels and also muscle fatigue and pain. Following the suggestion of the dietician, a blood test was done and to everyone’s surprise, the young kid was diagnosed with a low hemoglobin count and vitamin D3 deficiency.
If a Healthy young 14 years old boy, who exercises regularly and has a balanced diet in place, can be diagnosed for this deficiency, then anyone could have it. Continue reading
